GALUCHAT
This beautiful material, a by-product from the stingray, was first popularized in Europe by Jean-Claude Galluchat (d. 1774), a master leatherworker in the court of Louis XV of France. It quickly became a fashion amongst the French aristocracy, and migrated throughout Europe by the mid-18th century. Since then, it has been used for many decorative purposes as today in jewellery. A rare marriage of this beautiful natural material and time-honoured craft brings out some fun pieces in surprising colours.Even though the material comes from the ocean, we advise you to not enter the water with your bracelet on, this will damage the material.
ELEMENTALS CLASPS
The clasps in Sterling silver are plated with white rhodium, the brass models come plated in18k yellow or rose gold in order for them to keep their colour longer lasting.
Should you have a copper or brass allergy, we advise you to take the plated Sterling silver version or 18k golden version.
We offer a service to have your clasps re-polished and re-plated.
